Up at 4am and off in the jeep for our sunrise safari.
We were were promised lots of animals and birds including peacocks, elephants and leopard.
Our Driver Janaka got us there early so we were 3rd in the queue for tickets and as soon as he had them in his hand he raced back to the jeep and we were off!
It was a beautiful morning and we did see many animals including Mongoose, Jackal, Crocodiles, Monkeys, Water Buffalo, Deer, Wild Pigs and the highlight of them all Elephants.
And especially the baby elephant - he was so tiny.

No Leopards for us i'm afraid but we were not that bothered.
We saw a gazillion birds most of which we could not name and many we could not even photograph - they were too quick.
Our highlights here were an Eagle, Peacocks and Peahens, Spoonbills, Cranes, Flamingoes, Pelicans and a brilliant Kingfisher.
The scenery was stunning with great rock formations peeking above the trees.A great day out and then we had to head back home ready for the next leg of our journey
