Why did we come back here???
17 August 2014

We had a long long day ahead to reach Mumbai.
We left our luxury hotel room at 6 am and headed for the train station. The train journey to Chennai was 5 1/2 hours long and we felt every minute of it.
We do like the catering service on the Indian trains though. A constant stream of vendors walk up and down the train selling everything from little cups of milky coffee and chai for 7p a cup, to freshly made samosas for 10p each and a full meal of rice and curry for less than £1. Then at the stations, the non-Government vendors jump on selling chilled drinks, crisps, dosas and children's toys. No wandering down to the buffet car here!
Just before we reached Chennai, we worked out that to get to the airport we didn't need to go all the way into
the centre on the train
Disgusting
So we jumped off the train early then had to catch a train back out the city to the airport. Our new tickets cost us the grand price of 5p each!
At Chennai, we jumped on a plane to Mumbai and an hour and a half later we were here. As we had been here before and seen just about everything we wanted to see (and got invited to a wedding) there wasn't much we wanted to see. So we opted to stay in a different part of the city close to the airport and right on the beach.
It all worked out well enough - that is until we went to the beach.
I have never seen such a disgusting beach as this. We have seen some bad ones but this is just the pits. It's like taking a walk through a tip. For sure our walk did not last very long.
Next Stop - Indore.
Nope, we'd never heard of it either but it's where Bryan has some business colleagues so he is going to meet with them.
It's right in the centre of India a part we haven't been to before so looking forward to seeing something new.
