Summary
What was different this time ~ Again we didn't have the wow factor of being here for the first time so it felt a bit routine. We could get a full 30 day visa on arrival overland this time too which meant we had less time constraints without doing a "visa run" to the border. As we are moving more slowly on this trip, we didn't rush through Thailand to get somewhere else either which was great.
We loved ~ the floating markets, The Bridge on the Kwai, WANALEEEEEE!! The north of Thailand, The Karen people, The White Temple, Koh Tao, Thai massage
We didn't like ~ Satun (ferry town), Thailand is supposed to be the land of smiles, but in Bangkok it felt a bit more like we will smile when you show us your money
The people ~ generally really lovely but in the big city there are many that only want your money and if something you have paid for isn't right and you want a refund, well, then you see a different side to them. The north of Thailand was very different from the south and the people were really lovely here. The islanders too are generally more laid back than Bangkok.
Food ~ good for vegetarians. A lot of fresh fish eaten here too even inland because of the huge rivers
Transport - Good transport links and it is really easy to get anywhere you want to go. Just say where and someone will sell you a ticket!
Things which will remind us of Thailand ~ Elephants, sky lanterns
Would we recommend it? Yes definitely and will come back again
