Toronto - The Bug War

It had to happen, bed bugs! our cheap night in China Town resulted in us finding Bed Bugs which to say the least is not pleasant. luckily we hadn’t got in the bed so did a midnight flit somewhere else. which turned out to be horrid (but we only saw it at its worst when we woke up the next morning). However, you can’t judge a city by one nights accommodation, and our first impressions after our first evening walking around is a vibrant and happening city. Friday, 10 December 2010 Moved to HI Hostels and joined their membership, as we are sure we will be using them quite a lot during our travels. booked our trip to Niagara and up the CN tower with them so got good price. We are both very tired so crashed and slept a few hours this afternoon. Bryan woke up feeling like dancing so off he went on his own into the city. Jody stayed in and had a bit of a pamper - got to use that hairdryer!! Saturday, 11 December 2010 we went to watch Harry Potter today. i’m still a bit confused as to who’s the good guys and who are the baddies. but we enjoyed the film anyway went to a local brewery in the afternoon - Steam Whistle Brewery. had a few beers there before moving on to a bar where we had to pay for them! bought some groceries and a bottle of wine so we could eat in tonight and Bryan shaved off his beard!! hurray!! Sunday, 12 December 2010 we went for a walk in the rain, to the old part of Toronto today. we wondered if we were going the right way as it was all a bit tower blocky. when we got to the right place though, it was all quaint and christmassy. they had a christmas market on, a lovely big tree and a brass band. starting to feel a little bit of the christmas spirit now. oh no - that was the hot apple cider!
