Road Trip California

shapeimage_4 We've got ourself a mustang convertible, how legendary is that, cruising down the coast road from San Francisco to Los Angeles on route 1. Big muscle car, loads of power, roof down, sun shining and the wind through our hair, first road crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, with the roof down of course. Driving down Route 1 to Los Angeles is one of the best trips you could take in a convertible car, beautiful scenery, and when you enter Big Sur, well, high cliff faces, beautiful seas of the Pacific, bendy roads and perfect for driving. Stopping on route in Big Sur is a must, one point where you can view the Grey Whales from a cliff top looking out to the ocean and watching closely you get to see the whales coming up to breathe. Breathtaking just watching them. Then just before you leave Big Sur the cliff faces start to reduce in size and the landscape stretches out once again, time to make another stop for the Elephant Seals breeding ground, this was stunning and amazing to see so many Elephant Seals, there must have been some 1,000 stretched across the beach. The sun was setting so we only got about 20 minutes of light to watch the seals. A real bonus as this was something we were not expecting to see. Arrived in Los Angeles after driving through Malibu. Off to see Hollywood, Sunset Boulevard, Walk of Fame, Rodeo Drive , and as we are here Jody decided it would be good idea to have her hair cut while in Beverly Hills. Then we took the Mustang back to the hire company as we had a flight to catch to Rarotonga, Cook Islands. click to see photos
