Once again, another destination we had been to before but this time we stayed for over 4 months

Our Budget ~ rooms: £12 a night except at The Place - £140 a night!!
~ food: £6 each per day - it's cheap here!
They drive on the left - as do all the best countries in the world!
Places we stayed and our Star Rating
Jom Thong - 3* - lovely big sunny room with great views
Aou Aon - 3* - nice room but no fridge :-(
Viking House room 1 - 4* - almost perfect - didn't like the stairs
Viking House room 6 - 3* - missed the kitchen facilities but no stairs here :-)
The Place - 10* - beautiful and our own pool too :-))
Nirvana Guesthouse - 4* - good location & good size room
Chillax, Bangkok - 5* - a wonderful shower and big bath!

We love Thailand. We are used to it and understand how things work here. No use getting upset by their ways of doing things as it doesn't change anything. Just accept this is Thailand and you have a much better experience
We loved ~ The Place, Coral Grand, Bryan's swim around the Island, The Hacienda, the friends we have made here.
We didn't like ~ Umm. Need to think about that
The people ~ We do like Thai people. Most are friendly and respectful but they don't always accept foreigners easily despite being in tourist areas. Bangkok Thai people were definitely more friendly than Koh Tao Thai people for sure which surprised us. Whereas the many many Burmese people we met this time are very warm and sweet and we love them.
Food ~ You can find pretty much anything you want on Koh Tao EXCEPT MacDONALD"S _ YEAHY. that would be a very sad day indeed if they made it there. But you can get burgers, pizza, Thai, Indian, Mexican, British favourites, Italian is everywhere, and healthy food too. There is even a Fast French Takeaway - don't know what's in there though! on the whole, all pretty good.
Transport - rent a bike, take a taxi, take a boat or walk. those are your only choices there

Would we recommend it? Yes definitely. We will be back. You never really leave Koh Tao
