Fred & Duck’s adventure

Uncategorized
shapeimage_4 Duck & I got ready to leave the beautiful islands of Fiji, all packed ready to go to Brisbane via Auckland. Then Duck says let’s not tell Bryan & Jody but we can stay in Fiji a little bit longer and they will never know! I know it was a silly idea but I went along with it as Fiji is sooo beautiful. Bryan & Jody went on to Auckland but we stayed in Fiji....tee hee! When they got to Auckland they had a 10 hour transfer between flights. Jody & Bryan settled down for the night at gate 10 and had a good nights sleep, whilst we put on our cozzies (yes I know Duck doesn’t need one) and we headed back to the beach. It was great and we stayed up really late and got drunk on over proof rum. Six o’clock in the morning Bryan & Jody awoke at Auckland airport only to find about 10 people sitting at gate 10 who had turned up really early to wait for their flight. They were so quiet they did not wake them up. We had a lie in after our late night and when we arrived at the airport we decided to have a wander around. We went behind the scenes where most people aren’t allowed to go and had a good nosey around. It was very laid back and these Fijians don’t move very fast. So slow in fact we missed the next flight to Auckland. By now we were beginning to worry we wouldn’t get to Brisbane in time to meet Bryan & Jody. Luckily duck had pinched Bryan’s credit card and knew his pin number so we had a bit of a spending spree at the airport duty free to kill some time whilst we waited for the next flight. We finally boarded our flight to Auckland. Now we were worried that Bryan would be very cross with us for being so late as we had his case with us. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA We made it to Auckland and got the next flight to Brisbane, a short 3 hour flight. When we arrived in to Brisbane airport, through security (which was quite painless) we waited to see if Bryan and Jody were there to collect us - but they had gone! We were all alone and didn’t know where they were. Duck was really upset but I told him not to worry. I spoke to a kind security man who told us that Bryan & Jody were staying with friends outside of Brisbane and they were waiting for us. What a relief! The kind security man had contacted Bryan to let him know we had arrived in Brisbane and had arranged for us to be taken there. A big van turned up and they shoved us with all the old bags in the back, so we did not get to see the beautiful Brisbane. We finally arrived at 5pm delivered safe & sound to Mark & Karen’s house. Bryan & Jody were really pleased to see us and thankfully were not very cross with us. I think they had been very worried about us. It was quite an adventure but I’ve told Duck I’m not doing that again as it was quite worrying not knowing if we would see Jody & Bryan ever again. I don’t think they would be very happy with us either.
