Cu Chi Tunnels

Uncategorized
shapeimage_4 Went to the Cu Chi Tunnels to see how the Viet Kong ran rings around the Americans during the war there. These underground tunnels are TINY! see the photos for how small the entrances are. They had made some bigger entrances for us giant tourists to get down but the tunnels underneath were still very small. The ingenuity of them actually doesn’t surprise us when you see some of the contraptions they use to sell merchandise around the city. The highlight of this day - for Bryan certainly - was getting the chance to fire a gun. with LIVE ammo! there was a choice of about 6 guns. Bryan chose a M16 and Jody chose an AK47!! Jody went first and Bryan got some good video footage of it. The gun kept jamming so that’s the excuse for not hitting the target. Well the target was quite a long way away i must say! So Bryan went next and Jody got the camera ready to film him. He was sooo excited! I must say at this stage that Bryan actually did a lot worse target wise and all shots were way off into the sand. But unfortunately that cannot ever be proved now because Jody pressed the wrong button and didn’t get any video at all!! Oh but how bad did she feel. Bryan made her grovel all day :-( We came back from Ch Chi by boat and decided to treat ourselves as it was our last full night in Ho Chi Minh City. We had a bottle of wine (this really is a rare treat) and lovely pasta & Bryan had ribs (even more rare) Then to “Go 2” bar for a hubbly bubbly, apple flavour!! Jody had never had one of those before.
