A Quick Coffee Break in Poland
9 August 2024

Exploring Mumlavský Vodopád Waterfalls
Our departure from David Wellness Spa Hotel in Harrachov was marked by a refreshing morning walk to the Mumlavský Vodopád waterfalls. The trail to the falls meanders through lush greenery and offers picturesque views of the surrounding landscape. Despite the busy atmosphere with families and tourists, the natural beauty of the falls was captivating. The cascading water, flanked by smooth rocks and vibrant foliage, created a serene and rejuvenating start to our day. The dogs enjoyed the walk as much as we did, happily trotting along the well-marked paths.
A Quick Coffee Break in Poland
With the morning’s hike behind us, we packed up and drove just a short distance to Poland, crossing the border for a brief stop. We found a quaint café where we enjoyed a warm coffee and a slice of delicious apple pie. It was a charming interlude, offering a taste of Polish hospitality and a chance to stretch our legs before heading back to the Czech Republic.
Ascending to Ještěd: A Mountain Peak Experience
Returning to the Czech Republic, our next destination was Ještěd, a striking mountain with an elevation of 1,000 metres. The drive up to the top was an exhilarating experience, with winding roads leading us through the dramatic landscapes. At the summit, we were greeted by panoramic views that stretched out over the Czech countryside and beyond. The scenery was nothing short of breathtaking, with the vast expanse of rolling hills and distant mountains creating a truly awe-inspiring vista.
At the top, we visited the Ještěd Tower, an iconic structure that serves as both a hotel and a broadcasting tower. Although we inquired about staying at the tower’s hotel, it was fully booked. Undeterred, we took advantage of the on-site restaurant, where we enjoyed a hearty bowl of soup and a refreshing drink. The restaurant’s glass walls offered unobstructed views of the stunning landscape, making our meal a memorable experience.
Finding a Lakeside Campsite
After our visit to Ještěd, we set out to find a place to stay for the night. We discovered a lovely campsite near a lake, complete with a sandy beach just a short walk away. The site, surrounded by nature and offering easy access to the water, was the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a few relaxing days. The tranquil setting and beautiful lake made it an ideal location to set up camp and soak in the peaceful surroundings.

7th August: Relaxing at Caravan Park - Hammer by the Lake
A Leisurely Day at the Beach
Our stay at Caravan Park - Hammer by the Lake began with a leisurely start. The morning was spent enjoying a slow wake-up and a relaxed walk to the nearby beach. The lake’s sandy shore, known as Přírodní koupaliště Hamr na Jezeře, was a delightful spot to spend the day. With our umbrella from the south of France providing much-needed shade, we set up our little beach retreat and settled in for a day of relaxation.
The beach, with its clean sand and clear water, offered a refreshing escape. We spent our time lounging in the sun, taking dips in the lake, and enjoying the calm, scenic beauty of the area. The relaxed atmosphere and natural surroundings made it a perfect spot for unwinding and enjoying the simple pleasures of lakeside life.
